As North Everett residents, we had often seen Vince Decker signs on homes for sale in our neighborhood. As we began thinking of selling a rental home we had nearby, a home that had been in John's family for over 80 years, we called on Vince to give us his expert opinion. I first met Vince when I considered selling my home a few years ago. I saw his signs everywhere, figured there must be a good reason for that and called him last summer when I was ready. I interviewed several real estate agents, he clearly stood out to me for many reasons. He was straightforward, honest and very professional. He wasn't professional to the point of overbearing. He was just your "guy next door" who does his job very well. When other realtors were telling me what they felt I wanted to hear to get my listing, he told me the truth. I chose him for all these reasons and more. He knows the market, the neighborhood and lives here. He has a true appreciation for older homes and all the history that goes along with each one. My home had been in my family for almost 100 years and it broke my heart to let it go; he truly understood that. When it came time to list the home he listed it for more than we had originally discussed and I ended up selling it for more than I had planned. He did it in less than 10 days, which made it so much easier for my family to move on and start a new life in a different home. I had been told by other realtors who must be jealous of his success that I would't see Vince much, that his assistants would talk to me more. That was far from the truth. There was only Vince and at least a half a dozen phone calls a day (usually more) between the two of us. Sorry I have taken so long to write a testimonial and again thank you for the fantastic work you did in selling my mother's home. I'm not sure how to go about writing this, but assume you edit it so it fits in with the other testimonials.

I would like to say a few words about Vince Decker, the Real Estate guy, and also Vince Decker, a wonderful person.

My mother recently became ill and could no longer live at home and moved into a Adult Family Home which she loves very much. We needed to sell her home ASAP to help pay for the future costs of living in this new home. I happened to see Vince's signs everywhere I drove in the north end of Everett where my mother's house was located. I decided to give Vince a call, as well as two other local agents. Vince was very professional and personable when discussing the asking price for the home and some options we could do to maximize full potential. He made several suggestions that didn't cost very much, and assured me it would help in attaining the asking price and also make the home much more presentable and appealing to any prospective buyer. We settled on a fair price. I then interviewed two other agents. Those agents did not recommend doing what Vince had suggested and both were much lower in terms of the suggested listing price. When I told one agent that I thought the listing price was too low and recommended a price closer to what Vince had suggested, the reply was "no way will you ever get that kind of money for a house in that location!" Guess what? I did what Vince suggested and he sold the house in a very tough market in less than 30 days at the price I had hoped to receive. Vince kept me updated each week and was instrumental in negotiating the final price we received. In this case, he was a "miracle worker", since we really needed to sell the house as soon as possible.

Now for Vince, the person. My wife and I both were sold on Vince, the person, and that helped us make the decision to make him our agent. He is a very easy-going, well-spoken, caring, professional and ethical person. When Vince says he will do something, he does it. He is a great communicator and never talks over you. He is also a very good listener, equally as important. In closing, I highly recommend Vince for either purchasing or selling your home. If he ever runs for office, he has our vote. In the process of finding a real estate agent to help us sell our Historic Everett home before relocating to Hawaii, we had planned to use an agent arranged through our bank which would have resulted in a $1650 cash rebate. I first became aware of Vince when, over a period of two months, he sold 4 homes in my immediate neighborhood.
