Vince made my little sister's wedding cake a success. Wait, is Vince Decker, a real estate broker, a baker too? I actually don't know the true answer to that question but getting us into our first home made my foray into wedding cake making an experience I'd definitely repeat. I know this isn't a typical story but here it goes: Vince had been emailing us listings in our price range for a few months.. condos with a few historic homes sprinkled in here and there. Even though we took our time, he stuck with us and emailed us a listing for a home on a Tuesday night. My husband and I said, sure, let's see it Friday. Wednesday morning Vince says there's already been an offer put in - this is the place you've waited for so let's get it. We saw it, drove to Vince's office, and made our own offer. Closing date on the offer: 4 days before my little sister's wedding. I started to freak. How was I going to bake, assemble, and decorate a cake for 150 if we got the house 4 days before the big day? Of course that's what I'm worried about; nothing about shouldering our first mortgage, how we're go to move our stuff. Funny how things fall into place...they accept our offer, our inspection goes well, financing's no problem, and Vince keeps us updated on whatever we need to know. Back to the cake...since Vince and my husband were making everything happen, I could bake the layers ahead of time and freeze them. Since we had our old apartment at the same time as the move, my husband and some buddies moved everything to the new house except for what I needed for the cake. Our old apartment officially became a bakery and my sister's cocoa butter cake with blackberry cream filling and swiss meringue buttercream frosting decorated with gerber daisies, blackberries, and raspberries came together beautifully. So thanks, Vince, for finding us our wonderful home and making my sister's cake way less stressful. Oh, and when you have a party celebrating selling your 500th house, call me and I'll bring dessert. :)

We met Vince in a time of desperation to sell our home. My husband had gotten back to the Seattle area from Iraq in October from an 8 month intelligence deployment and then turned around to deploy to Washington DC shortly after. By the time we met Vince it had already been 7 months of separation. We were in a position where we couldn't afford to sell our home so we were forced to live separately again. Thanks to some law changes and Vince's help we were able to sell our home quickly and efficiently.
Vince made all the difference to this quick turn around and sale. He helped with advise pre-sale which I followed religiously. He had people who were able to help with work I wasn't able to do who were quick to return calls and were good at their jobs. One even offer discounts for future work if needed for the closing.Vince had the greatest high definition photos taken of the house, showing it beautifully. The house was listed fairly to sell and an offer and a quick closing followed.
Vince personally oversaw the entire thing through even when he had a family death and had to travel out of the state for a week. This is a man of dedication and conviction. He is the man you are looking for. He helped us to the end when our cleaner for the final day fell through he arranged for that to be taken care of and we had already left the state. We really enjoyed working with Vince. We never felt as though we didn't know what wasn't going on or were alone on this house sale as it was our first. Vince walked us through the things we had to clarify even if it was the second or third time. Having spouses in different states makes it a little more challenging. Selling a home is personal and can be amazingly stressful, do yourself a favor and choose someone who can lighten the load like Vince Decker.

Thanks to Vince and electronic technology we sold our Mother's home while I was on a tour of Greece! The 10 hour time difference and touring made phone communication nearly impossible, but we accomplished it by email and fax and I had a great vacation!. Vince gave clear guidance in email instructions, had the inspection completed and estimates in hand when we met the day I returned. The sale closed six weeks to the day we listed without any glitches.
Vince is an extremely knowledgeable agent, positive about the real estate climate and always had our best interest at heart. His photos both online and on the fliers used excellent digital photography. He works with a great attention to detail.
We liked that Vince suggested we show our Mother's home with her furniture in lieu of staging it. We saw that as an honor and respect to our mother who loved her home - we hope the new owner will enjoy it as much as she did.

My pregnant wife and I were living in apartment and looking for a home to fit our soon to be growing family. When driving around the neighborhoods, a certain name & face kept popping up a lot, Vince Decker. I sent him an e-mail later that Friday night (9 PM-ish) and he called us back that same night! My wife had to work over the weekend, so I was free to spend some time with Vince to look for homes on Saturday. Saturday turned into Sunday which turned into Monday afternoon after I got off work. About 40 homes & +/- 30 hours later of actual 1:1 searching time with Vince we ended up back to a house where we first met Vince; a little red craftsman with a lot of character that we felt comfortable with placing a bid and getting an inspection on for purchase. "To put it simply, Vince amazed us. There are agents out there who seem like used car salesmen, and we were not interested in dealing with one. Hearing great things about his work, we decided to give Vince a chance to try to "sell" us on working with him. He was the first real estate professional we'd ever met who was an actual genuine human being. He looked us right in the eye, listened carefully and processed what we were telling him about our needs and our plans. My wife and I have been extremely blessed by everything Vince has done for us (and continues to do for us). There's no question he will go out of his way to take care of you. We were in the process of moving from Japan to the Seattle area (I am an officer in the Navy. Vince gave us an entire Saturday and welcomed us by showing us around and giving us a taste of what this area had to offer. We visited several homes in our price range while he explained to us the ins and outs of buying a home. We had often seen Vince Decker signs on homes for sale in our neighborhood. As we began thinking of selling a rental home we had nearby, a home that had been in John's family for over 80 years, we called on Vince to give us his expert opinion. He met us within an hour of our call, walked through the home, and gave us an honest assessment. He gave us a list of things he felt were necessary to bring the home to selling condition, and also gave us names and numbers of contractors, stagers, etc. to help us get going. I first met Vince when I considered selling my home a few years ago. I saw his signs everywhere, figured there must be a good reason for that and called him last summer when I was ready. I interviewed several real estate agents, he clearly stood out to me for many reasons. He was straightforward, honest and very professional. He wasn't professional to the point of overbearing. He was just your "guy next door" who does his job very well. When other realtors were telling me what they felt I wanted to hear to get my listing, he told me the truth. I chose him for all these reasons and more. He knows the market, the neighborhood and lives here. He has a true appreciation for older homes and all the history that goes along with each one. My home had been in my family for almost 100 years and it broke my heart to let it go; he truly understood that. When it came time to list the home he listed it for more than we had originally discussed and I ended up selling it for more than I had planned. He did it in less than 10 days, which made it so much easier for my family to move on and start a new life in a different home. I had been told by other realtors who must be jealous of his success that I would't see Vince much, that his assistants would talk to me more. That was far from the truth. There was only Vince and at least a half a dozen phone calls a day (usually more) between the two of us. He was always patient with my emotional moments and even ran over immediately (he lives just around the corner) with a key twice when I locked myself out. Sorry I have taken so long to write a testimonial and again thank you for the fantastic work you did in selling my mother's home. I'm not sure how to go about writing this, but assume you edit it so it fits in with the other testimonials.
I would like to say a few words about Vince Decker, the Real Estate guy, and also Vince Decker, a wonderful person.
My mother recently became ill and could no longer live at home and moved into a Adult Family Home which she loves very much. We needed to sell her home ASAP to help pay for the future costs of living in this new home. I happened to see Vince's signs everywhere I drove. I decided to give Vince a call, as well as two other local agents. Vince was very professional and personable when discussing the asking price for the home and some options we could do to maximize full potential. He made several suggestions that didn't cost very much, and assured me it would help in attaining the asking price and also make the home much more presentable and appealing to any prospective buyer. We settled on a fair price. I then interviewed two other agents. Those agents did not recommend doing what Vince had suggested and both were much lower in terms of the suggested listing price. When I told one agent that I thought the listing price was too low and recommended a price closer to what Vince had suggested, the reply was "no way will you ever get that kind of money for a house in that location!" Guess what? I did what Vince suggested and he sold the house in a very tough market in less than 30 days at the price I had hoped to receive. Vince kept me updated each week and was instrumental in negotiating the final price we received. In this case, he was a "miracle worker", since we really needed to sell the house as soon as possible.
Now for Vince, the person. My wife and I both were sold on Vince, the person, and that helped us make the decision to make him our agent. He is a very easy-going, well-spoken, caring, professional and ethical person. When Vince says he will do something, he does it. He is a great communicator and never talks over you. He is also a very good listener, equally as important. In closing, I highly recommend Vince for either purchasing or selling your home. If he ever runs for office, he has our vote. In the process of finding a real estate agent to help us sell our historic home before relocating to Hawaii, we had planned to use an agent arranged through our bank which would have resulted in a $1650 cash rebate. We had met the recommended person and were quite satisfied, but felt that we should meet at least another real estate agent for comparison. When we called Vince, we believed that this would simply be a formality given the amount of money from the rebate, but it took only a few moments with Vince to see he was a different breed of agent. I first became aware of Vince when, over a period of two months, he sold 4 homes in my immediate neighborhood. Selling as many homes as he does, I expected to meet a really high-pressure mega-salesman and was surprised to meet a really low-key, friendly guy who just happened to know a whole lot about real estate, especially older homes like mine. He had great ideas prior to listing, advising me what I should, and shouldn't do to get the house ready for sale, recommendations for a handyman/electrician and a housecleaner.
